Just an odd question... how many current ECSU students living on-campus feel that the enviornment on campus is safe and supportive towards the Gay / Lesbian/ Bi-Sexual / Transgender community?
Do you feel students who are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgender have the freedom and security to express themselves and be themselves here on campus?

If you are interested in compassion, vegetarianism or veganism, maintaining farm integrity [you don't have to be vegan to oppose the state of farms in this day and age!!], animal welfare, health, activism, or even just film,
this FRIDAY, MAY 5th, there is an event for you!
There will be a screening of the film, "Peaceable Kingdom" at ECSU, in Webb110.
The doors open at 6pm, it's completely free, and there will be free food afterwards (home-cooked AND donated packaged treats to bring home.. including Tings [look em up, they're wicked good!], cookies by Sun Flour Baking Co [german chocolate, peanut butter, lemony lemon, and choc chip], and Stonewall's Jerquee bits [mild flavor!]) ... Also there will be literature available to those interested in learning more about what is explored in the film, or just interested in acquiring the resources for your own perusal. The lit will also be quite free.
Definitely get in touch with me if you're interested, or know anyone who would be, please spread the word or bring some friends!

call the Eastern police for directions (860) 465-5310
(as well as people from the surrounding area, but it's best if you contact someone you know from the school to take you as a guest, if you're not from ECSU originally.)
It's a free concert to be held tomorrow (April 20th) at 7:00pm in the ECSU Sports Center/Gymnasium. Go if you can. The band is called "HolyFire" and specializes in uplifting rock music.
It will probably have a Christian message, but all people from all walks of life and religions are welcome to attend.
OVER $1,000 DOLLARS WILL BE SPENT ON FREE GIVE-AWAY ITEMS, INCLUDING MULTIPLE IPODS AND PLAYSTATION PORTABLES
This band sounds really awesome, and offers a really positive message that just about everybody can relate to.
The event starts at 7:00 pm and should run until 10:00 or 11:00pm at the latest.
Reply if you have any questions! Thanks! :)
I'm a uconn alumna who now lives in Washington, DC. Though I've had the number for 6 years now (!), and chose it because Verizon coverage was always the best in the CT area, my craptastic phone was stolen, and I'm liking shinier ones by Cingular. This is a uconn/willi exchange cell phone number.
Worry not. My sketchy friends will not call you. They never even called me, the punks. It's been out of service due to the theft. If you'd like, you can take the number over outright with the exact
same plan (I actually had it under my Dad's name for the first few years).
Verizon makes you sign up for two more years at that point (hence the long shot), though you will get their phone deal because I never replaced my craptastic phone, and was eligible to.
America's Choice 300 Anytime $34.99 0603
Monthly charge $34.99
Monthly allowance minutes 300 general
Additional per minute charge $.45 peak, $.45 off-peak
TXT Messaging 600 Allow - $7.99
plus taxes, my average monthly charge is around $47. Yes, I was barely scraping by with that when I was a stoodint, but the nighttime minutes are 9pm - 7am and saved my butt. No, no intarweb or minute rollover...it is what it is.
And a small amount of apology if you think this post is lame...just thought someone might find it useful.
